Has anyone used Clinoptilolite, Zeolite as a soil amendment? |
|
"Hi, I've used it, spread it rather heavily through-out the back yard, where my dog relieves himself. Works great so far. Got it at a ""Petsmart"" store for $7.99 a 25# bag, in the Rockford, IL area. (Sweet PDZ, brand). It's used for horse stalls and cattle barns for odor and traction control on the floor for the hoofed animals. Amazon.com has some, too, but you'll have to pay shipping. I've put it in my potting soils also. Call around to some livestock feed suppliers and or for sure any business that supplies horse enthusiast with products. It cuts down the odors of ammonia, amount of flies, and changes the ammonia into usable nitrogen for your plants.I put down zeolite(name of actual mineral) heavily, in back yard, 350lbs. worth, then applied a heavy spreading of calcium nitrate for fertilizer this spring. My yard now is a beautiful dark green, and almost all the urine burn spots are gone. Hope this helps. " |
